My name is Andrea Gornik, and I’m a passionate creator from the sun-kissed landscapes of Southern California.

 

Creating abstract paintings allows me to experiment with diverse mediums, colors, and textures, bringing "depth" to each piece in both literal and figurative ways. Through the use of joint compound and pouring or glazing mediums, I introduce tangible textures that invite viewers to experience my work as both a visual and physical journey. In abstraction, I find expanded horizons and a renewed artistic perspective that continues to shape my evolution as an artist.

 

In my botanical paintings, my passion truly blooms. Each piece is a tribute to the resilience and growth that plants embody—qualities I find endlessly inspiring. With meticulous attention to detail, I aim to bring each leaf, petal, and stem to life, exaggerating colors that resonate with me and highlighting details that feel essential. By blending realism with abstraction, I create compositions that invite viewers to see the vitality of plants in a new way, offering fresh perspectives on their beauty, strength, and connection to life’s cycles.

Beyond the studio, I enjoy live music, craft breweries, and local plant nurseries. My houseplants often spark new inspiration for my botanical work! These experiences subtly influence my color palette and creative moods, becoming part of the artistic process.
